    “2017 Dutchess County Fair Facebook Contest”

    Official Rules

    1.    No purchase or account opening necessary to enter. Promotion begins July 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM EST and ends August 18, 2017 at 5:00 PM EST (the “Contest Period”). Each weekday during the Contest Period, Rhinebeck Bank (the “Bank”) will post a “trivia question” to its Facebook Page. The “trivia question” will be in one of the following formats or a combination of these formats: 1) a trivia question, 2) a true/false statement, 3) a post that you must “Like” on Facebook, 4) a request for you to share your “favorite” of something from the Dutchess County Fair, such as a memory or food item, or 5) answering a riddle. To enter, follow the instructions in that day’s “trivia question” post, and post the correct answer to that day’s trivia question in the comment section of the Bank’s original trivia question post for that day. For all trivia questions other than those asking for you to share a “favorite” or a share a “memory”, your answer must match Rhinebeck Bank’s answer. Only correct answers that match Rhinebeck Bank’s answers will be considered an “eligible entry” for the contest that day. The trivia question will be posted at or around 10:00 AM EST each weekday during the Contest Period, and all responses must be posted in the comment section of the Bank’s original Facebook post for that day by 3:30 PM EST. A winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries for that day’s “trivia question,” and the winner will be announced on Facebook between 4:00 PM EST and 5:00 PM EST. You may enter more than once per day, and may enter each day of the contest, but may only win once during the Contest Period.

    Anyone who does not have a Facebook page or does not want to participate on Facebook can enter the contest by mailing their name, address and phone number on an index card to Rhinebeck Bank, 2017 DC Fair Contest, PO Box 1191, Poughkeepsie, NY 12602 or by submitting their name, address and phone number at any Rhinebeck Bank branch location by 3:30 PM EST on contest days. Any entries submitted through the mail will be entered into the contest on the day the mail is processed by the Bank. If the entry is received by the Bank after 3:30 PM EST, it will be included in the next day’s drawing. Any entries submitted at a Rhinebeck Bank branch after 3:30 PM EST or over the weekend will also be included in the next day’s drawing. Each mail envelope is considered one entry. Rhinebeck Bank will not verify receipt of entries for entrants. All entries submitted become the sole property of Rhinebeck Bank and will not be returned. Rhinebeck Bank is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, or damaged mailed entries. In the event of uncertainty as to the identity of an entrant, the entry may be voided altogether by Rhinebeck Bank. Copies of the Official Rules are also available at all Rhinebeck Bank branch locations and online at By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules.

    Rhinebeck Bank reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, or anyone who uses profanity. Use of bots or other automated processes to enter is prohibited and may result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Rhinebeck Bank. Rhinebeck Bank further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify any promotion not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure or technical failures of any sort.

    2.    The 2017 Dutchess County Fair Facebook Contest is only open to lawful permanent residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. Employees, Directors and Trustees of Rhinebeck Bank, its parent company and affiliated companies and their immediate families (i.e. parents, children, spouse, siblings) and members of their households (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate.

    3.     Thirty (30) winners will receive two (2) tickets to the 2017 Dutchess County Fair on or before August 21, 2017. Potential winners will be selected at random each weekday during the Contest Period from all eligible entries received before 3:30 PM EST that weekday.  One winner will be chosen per weekday.  Each General Admission Adult ticket is valued at $15. Winners will be announced in three ways:  as a reply to their submission comment, as a new comment on the original post, and as a new post on Rhinebeck Bank’s Facebook page. It is the winner’s responsibility to check Facebook to see if they’ve won.  Only winners who entered via mail or at a branch location will be notified by phone.   Winners will need to make arrangements to pick up their tickets at our Mid-Hudson Branch location or ask that the tickets are mailed to their home address. Winners must contact Rhinebeck Bank via Private Message on Facebook to claim their tickets and arrange for pick-up. Pending verification of eligibility, an execution of required waivers, and publicity and liability releases, the prize will be awarded.  If the winner does not contact Rhinebeck Bank within 72 hours to make arrangements to pick up their tickets, they will be donated to the Grace Smith House, a non-profit organization.  All tickets must be claimed by August 21, 2017.

    4.    Subject to all federal, State of New York and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification.

    5.    The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received each day. Prizes are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. No substitutions of prizes permitted. Prizes are not transferable. Winners are solely responsible for reporting winnings and paying all taxes, as applicable. Winners will be chosen at random from each day’s eligible entries using the mobile application Lottery Number Generator. The developers and owners of this application and their immediate families (i.e. parents, children, spouse, siblings) and members of their households (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the contest.

    6.    By claiming a prize, winners consent to Rhinebeck Bank’s use of their name and photograph for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation, unless where prohibited by law. Further, by accepting a prize, winner agrees they have complied with these Official Rules, as stated, and to not assert any claims and agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Rhinebeck Bank, its parent company and affiliated companies and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any and all claims made by the winners, entrants, or any third parties, and any and all liabilities, injuries or damages sustained in connection with the award or use of the prize.
