Q: What is online banking?
A: Online banking is a tool that allows you to use a personal computer with Internet access to conduct your banking online
Q: What types of alerts can I set up in OLB?
A: You can choose from Service Alerts, such as when your email address, username or password is changed. You can also set up Account Alerts for Account Transfers and Balance Notifications. Please note the Account Alerts are only sent once at 8am.
Q: How do I add an alert?
A: Log in to Online Banking. Click Self-Service and select Alerts. You can update your contact information on this screen as well.
Q: What can I do with online banking?
A: You can view account balances and transaction history, transfer money, view your eStatement and deposited items, pay your bills and download transactions to a personal financial manager and much more.
Q: When can I use online banking services?
A: With online banking, you have access to your account information 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: Can I create my own password that is easy for me to remember?
A: Yes, you will create your own password during the online banking registration process. Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length, with at least one upper case letter and one number. You can also change your password at any time by clicking Self Service, then User Information and clicking the pencil next to the password field.
Q: What happens if I forget or lose my password?
A: You can reset your password yourself from the password screen when you log in: click on Reset your Password? and follow the prompts to have a code sent via text or phone call to get reset. If you become locked out of your account, contact us and we will take you through the steps needed to get back into the system immediately.
Q: Is any of my personal information stored in the online banking product?
A: Yes, the online banking product stores your User ID, password and user preferences. All stored information is securely encrypted and will be authenticated as each customer logs into their personal online banking account. We do not store information that is personal to each individual (name, social security number, etc)
Q: How much account information can I view at once?
A: The system will automatically show the last 50 transactions. However, by selecting 'search transactions', you can also choose to view date ranges from yesterday to a 90 day view. Plus, with eStatements, you can access the last 24 months of account statements to print or download.
Q: How current is my banking information?
A: Your account information is updated every business day with the new transactions posted to your account from the previous business day. (Any pending items presenting on the current business day will display to you with appropriate date of memo post.)
Q: Can I view my account details in more than one way?
A: Yes, you can view your accounts by date, withdrawal/advance, amount, deposit/payment amount or balance in ascending or descending order.
Q: What formats can I download my transaction history in?
A: Online banking supports downloads to Quicken™, Quickbooks™ or as a comma-delimited file.
Q: How long can I be inactive before being logged out of the online banking product?
A: The inactivity time out is set for 15 minutes. This is not currently customizable.
Q: What is required to use the online banking service?
A: All you need to use Online Banking is a secure, updated browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer®, Mozilla Firefox®, Safari® or Google Chrome®. You can use any computer or device that has Internet access
Q: Can I schedule future transfers between my Rhinebeck Bank accounts?
A: Yes. Click on Money Movement once you have logged into your online banking session. Click 'Transfer' and follow the prompts.
Q: How do I use Text Banking
1. Log in to Rhinebeck Bank Online Banking and add Text Banking through the “Mobile Management” page
2. Enroll your mobile phone using your phone number and you will receive an Activation Code
3. You’ll receive a text message from 49794 (Rhinebeck Bank’s short code)
4. Reply to that text message with the activation code you received
5. You’re all set! Use the text commands below to get the information you need.
